The piece

The whole relief fits in ten millimetres.

The Jura in tight folds, the Plateau almost smooth, then the Alps, ridge after ridge, all the way to Graubünden. Around the country, recessed contour lines spread out to the edges of the slab. In the corner, the flag barely stands out, its cross a notch higher. Bottom right, the LEKER signature is moulded into the chocolate.

The drawing

Drawn, dimensioned, registered.

La Suisse begins on a drawing sheet: the slab seen from above, from the front and from the side, and the relief of the country rendered in greyscale. This drawing is registered, for ten years of protection.

Then come the volume modelled in three dimensions, the prototype, and the mould, which we design. Our partner chocolatiers in French-speaking Switzerland craft the chocolate in it.

All three editions share the same red box.

The box

The sleeve slides, the country appears.

La Suisse comes in a red box of 220 × 157 × 18 mm. On the sleeve: SWITZERLAND in golden letters, the white cross and a window open onto the relief. The slab’s contour lines carry on across it in fine red lines.

Slide the sleeve: along the edge of the tray run the names of cantons — Geneva, Vaud, Fribourg, Zug, Schwyz.
